Frequently Asked Questions

When am I able to burn?

Fire Permit Season is from April 1st - October 31st. During Fire Season, there is NO burning between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

Do I need a permit?

Anyone lighting a fire for any purpose other than cooking or warmth MUST obtain a fire permit.

What can I burn?

Please only burn wood, wood by-products (cardboard, paper etc.) or leaves.

Who can obtain a burn permit?

Only residents (18 years or older) living in approved areas can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time. Upon notification of permit cancellation or suspension, you must put out your fire right away.

How can I obtain a burn permit?

You may register online using this website, or you can visit us in person.

When am I able to proceed with my open burning?

There is absolutely NO Burning between 8:00am and 8:00pm. You MUST also call in to the automated burn permits hotline at [Insert Number] to activate your burn permit each time you are planning to burn.
